About this place

Long Nose Truck Forum started in September 2025 for people who own or drive conventional long hood tractors. Peterbilt 389s and 379s, Kenworth W900s and T800s, Western Star 4900s, and a few 567 and 49X owners who like the company. Fleet aero trucks are fine to talk about, they just are not what this board is for.

It is run by Dale K., who drove a 1998 Peterbilt 379 for eleven years hauling sugar beets and lumber out of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He posts as mod_dale_k, reads the contact address himself, and is slow to answer during beet harvest because he still helps a neighbor on the piling ground.

How it is paid for

Dale pays for the hosting out of pocket and a handful of members chip in once a year. There are no ads and no paid placements. Nobody pays to have a thread written or moved.

House rules

• Put the year, the engine and the miles in any question. Post a serial or engine serial number for shop questions when you can.
• Photo posts say the hood length, 123 or 131 on a Pete, the BBC number on anything else.
• Say what you paid. Buying reports without numbers get a note from the mod asking for them.
• No selling trucks in threads. There is no classifieds board on purpose. Link a public listing if it helps a discussion.
• If you work for a dealer, a shop or an auction house, say so in your signature.
• The mods can move, merge or lock threads and will say why.

What this is not

Not a dealer, not an auction, not a compliance service. When somebody here gives you a torque spec or a tax number, check it against the manual or the state office before you spend money on it.
